Best Buy Launches 50th Anniversary Deals Through Saturday

“The can’t-miss offers are a lead up to the 50th anniversary of the company, which opened its first store on August 22, 1966”, Best Buy said in its announcement. It kicks off tonight at 11 p.m. ET and runs through midnight on Saturday, Aug. 20.

The deals Best Buy is offering include $150 off Apple MacBook Pro, with students saving another $150. Customers can get an iPhone 6s for $1 or an iPhone 6s Plus for $99 with a two-year activation on Sprint or Verizon Wireless. For those who want to buy an iPhone 6s or 6s Plus using AT&T Next, Best Buy is offering a $200 gift card with purchase.

In the TV department the company is dropping the price of a 65-inch Samsung 4K UHD TV by $400 (see store for details on model).

Best Buy says almost all of the deals are available both in stores and online.

If you buy a Playstation 4 “Call of Duty” bundle, you get “Destiny” and two more games free. The company originally opened its doors on August 22, 1966 in St. Paul, Minnesota as “Sound of Music” before changing to its current name in 1983.
