As part of the growing relationship between Apple and Best Buy, the retailer will reportedly start selling AppleCare plans for Macs and AppleCare+ plans for iPhones, iPads and the Apple Watch.

“The plans call for Best Buy to begin offering the AppleCare plans in its stores at checkout around the week of September 14th”, reports 9to5Mac, citing sources familiar with the plans. Before that, Apple has extended the purchase window for AppleCare+ to 60 days.

It will include the retailer’s own standard warranty, so customers who purchase AppleCare from Best Buy can get their devices serviced through Apple or Best Buy. Just earlier this month, Apple announced that AppleCare+ for the iPhone and iPad has been expanded to Spain, Brazil and Turkey. However, no word yet has been made on when Apple plans to introduce such a plan. There is no official comment from either company on this report so far. These warranty plans indicate that the tech giant not only aims to provide users with a range of high-tech products, but also wishes to ensure that its consumers can buy protection plans that compliment the company’s technologies in case of any accidental damage or system error.

If this happens it will be the next major step in the Apple-Best Buy relationship, the retailer has also started selling the Apple Watch which the company was only selling through its own retail stores previously. The debut of the smartphone on September 9 at Apple’s event will allow customers to divide traffic and access Apple Care plans, helping both platforms expands their services and client-base even further.
