Bethesda Confirms RAGE 2

On Saturday, Bethesda’s official Twitter account tweeted a close-up image of some nasty teeth that had a specific date engraved on them. “Mad” is the word Max used to described the new Rage 2 trailer, and I have to say it does look pretty bonkers. With a full announcement set for later today, we don’t have long to wait for Bethesda to spill the beans. Instead, they’ve already got a gameplay trailer lined up to release tomorrow, along with other details that may or may not already be in said trailer. The official Rage Twitter account lampooned the listing, editing a screenshot of the webpage with a pink-colored version of the stylized “A” symbol in the original Rage’s title. Hopefully we’ll know for sure when Rage 2’s gameplay trailer launches tomorrow.

The first Rage game released was for iOS. Titled Rage: Mutant Bash TV was released in November 2010.

This short teaser trailer contained mostly live action footage but hinted at the return to the post apocalyptic setting for the sequel.

It is not unusual to see retailers leak unannounced video games but a leak of this scale is uncommon.

If you’re living under a rock, then you may have missed the Walmart leak. If the trailer is any suggests anything, it suggests that id Software will be embracing the more ridiculous and colorful aspect of Rage’s world in the sequel.

The outstanding question is whether Avalanche simply lent assistance to Bethesda, or took the lead in Rage 2’s development.
