According to CEO Andrew Wilson, EA has a history of developing for multiple platforms and scalable architectures like PC.

Again, if you crack open the PS4 (don’t do it, just take our word for it) you’ll find that the screws which hold the internal harddrive in place are PlayStation-branded.
“At a macro level, we’re excited about what Sony and Microsoft have announced”, he said.
“What that does for us, I mean, right now it’s all talk, right” he said.
Sony looks ready to launch PS4 Neo next year. After all, what company would launch a major product with so little time to actually drum up hype and excitement for it? “Maybe they’ll announce it around Gamescom in their own event or PR, maybe at TGS, maybe some random fucking day”.
The console market is gearing up for big changes this year. Surely the same line of reasoning can not apply here? “They have a big enough catalog now to give out some decent games”, one user ranted.
“I especially hate when the free games are games I can play on my iphone”.
New details about the PS4 Neo will be revealed later this month and the PlayStation Slim should be given a release date in September. Why would Sony let Microsoft generate all the hype, and potentially steal interest away from their product?
Writing on Twitter, Spencer mentioned that some people believed Microsoft’s announcement of the new Xbox console, Scorpio, might impact Xbox S sales, but apparently that hasn’t been the case. Even though Microsoft will jump around using that wording, it nearly represents a full generational jump over the Xbox One.
The PS4 NEO, on the other hand, is decidedly not that.
After the statement spread like wildfire online, GameStop PR rectified the issue with a statement: “Paul did not say that Xbox One S and PlayStation Neo hardware units would be coming for the holidays”.

Stay tuned for more PS4 Neo release date updates here! The anchor was the one who referenced the holiday period. It is very clear that Sony are trying their very best to have a PS4 upgrade that doesn’t leave the original PS4 and its vast swathe of owners behind in the dust.
