AMC has announced when its Emmy®-nominated series Better Call Saul will return for a second season.
Better Call Saul was an out-of-the-box hit when it premiered in February, becoming the biggest series debut in cable history in the adults 18-49 demo, en route to being cable’s No. 1 new series of the season in total viewers (5.9 million), adults 18-49 (3.7 million) and adults 25-54 (3.6 million) in Live+3. Bob Odenkirk’s character found himself at a crossroads at the end of the first season, when he was presented with a job opportunity with a major law firm that would allow him to leave behind his shady ways. After Nielsen tweaked its measurement method, Better Call Saul came in at the second highest rated first season among a cable show. Its inaugural season garnered seven Primetime Emmy® Award nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series, and won two Critics’ Choice TV Awards for Best Actor in a Drama Series (Bob Odenkirk) and Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series (Jonathan Banks) and the TCA Award for Outstanding New Program. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television. His beloved brother, Chuck (Michael McKean) sabotaged Jimmy’s best chance for redemption and a shot at his dream job. Season 1 episodes exclude specials, encores and mini-series.
