The victory lifted Boston into a tie with Baltimore in the AL East, one game behind division-leading Toronto. Home field advantage means a lot, and it’s not often one player can negate that advantage.

Bradley gave the Red Sox a 3-1 lead in the third with his two-run, two-out homer off Bundy.
Sandy Leon hit a two-run shot in the fifth and Bradley doubled in two runs in the sixth against Tyler Wright.
In the opener, Trevor Cahill (2-3) came off the disabled list to throw five innings of two-hit ball in his first start in almost 16 months in Chicago’s 4-0 win. Eddie Kasko ranks eighth with 345 wins.
Before all of the Betts excitement, Red Sox starting pitcher Eduardo Rodríguez was removed in the fifth inning – with a no-hitter still intact – because of hamstring tightness.
And Camden Yards is Betts’ theater of the absurd. There is no timetable for RHP Koji Uehara (right pectoral strain) to throw off a mound, but he “is doing better than anticipated”, Farrell said. OF Joey Rickard’s injured thumb will remain in a splint for another two to three weeks after he saw the doctor Wednesday.
