The lawsuit is part of a new legal strategy by Cosby to attack some of the women accusing him of sexual abuse in court.

According to TMZ, Cosby, 78, is suing the former model for defamation of character after claiming to major media outlets that Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted during an audition. Due to this, Cosby is seeking “compensatory and punitive damages” as well as a court order.
In a press release, Cosby lawyer Monique Pressley called Johnson’s statements “an opportunistic attempt to resuscitate her own career and benefit herself financially from the wave of media attention surrounding her false allegations against Mr. Cosby….”
In his lawsuit, the disgraced actor and comedian wrote he “never drugged defendant and her story is a lie”, USA Today reports.
After her story was published by the magazine, Johnson has also appeared on national television and talk shows to recount the incident.
Since the statute of limitations has expired in nearly all of the cases against him, the alleged victims can not pursue criminal charges and Cosby, who maintains his innocence, has never been charged with any offence related to the multitude of sex assault claims.
Bill Cosby’s attorneys have asked a federal judge to dismiss a defamation lawsuit by a Pittsburgh-area woman.
Cosby’s lawyers said Camille Cosby does not have any information about the accuracy of the women’s allegations.
“The comedian is claiming emotional distress against Tamara Green, Therese Serignese, Linda Traitz, Louisa Moritz, Barbara Bowman, Joan Tarshis and Angela Leslie … claiming the allegations of drugging and then sexually assaulting them is flatly untrue”, TMZ reported.
But Cosby’s attorneys, in a new U.S. District Court filing on Friday, say those denials don’t refer to Hill by name or otherwise specifically.
Earlier this month, Cosby took legal action against seven other women, saying several of them lied about him for financial gain.
Back in December 2014, the 63-year-old model alleged in an essay posted onVanity Fair’s website that Cosby drugged her in the mid-1980s.
Cosby has seen other backlash in addition to the defamation suit from some of his accusers.
