Beware! The Stage Is All Kanye West’s at This Year’s VMAs

It should be noted that the VMAs are going down in New York City’s iconic Madison Square Garden this year, which is the same place where West debuted Pablo less than a year ago.

Multiple sources confirm to Us that the “Formation” singer, 34, will light up the VMAs stage Sunday night.

After all, it was “Imma let you finish” moment in 2009 that more or less catapulted Taylor Swift into the public consciousness.

According to TMZ, the 39-year-old hip-hop star – who was presented with the prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award by sometime enemy Taylor Swift at last year’s show – will have minutes to “do as he pleases” on stage before he performs. West has always had a love-hate relationship with fame, MTV and infamy, so it’s more than a little surprising that the TV studio has reportedly given West a free rein to do whatever he wants during the upcoming VMAs. West’s wife Kim Kardashian is among the presenters. A pre-show co-hosted by DJ Khaled and featuring performances by Lukas Graham, Alessia Cara and Jidenna airs at 8PM.

Beyoncé led this year’s nominations, scoring 11 for videos from Lemonade.

The video for Adele’s heartwrenching comeback hit almost broke the internet with its million-plus views and countless spoofs, including one very memorable SNL sketch.
