Beyoncé, Adele lead MTV VMA nominations
Interestingly, Kanye West, who rushed the stage at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009 when Taylor Swift beat Beyonce, is up against Beyonce for Video of the Year.

FILE – In this Sunday, Aug. 30, 2015, file photo, Kanye West accepts the video vanguard award at the MTV Video Music Awards at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
The MTV VMAs will take place on August 28 at Madison Square Garden in NY.
Okay, VMAs, let’s get in formation. The nominations were announced Tuesday.
Swift and West have been publicly feuding for months about whether the pop star approved lyrics in which West boasts about making her famous. “I made that bitch famous”.
Beyoncé has already won the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, as far as we’re concerned. Adele was the second-most nominated act, scoring eight nods, including seven for her “Hello.” video.
West and Drake are also nominated in the best male video category, where they are joined by Bryson Tiller for Don’t, Calvin Harris ft Rihanna for This Is What You Came For and The Weeknd for Can’t Feel My Face.

The coveted video of the year category pits Beyonce’s politically-charged video for “Formation” against Adele’s “Hello”, Canadian rapper Drake’s “Hotline Bling”, Justin Bieber’s “Sorry” and West’s “Famous”. It was released several days before the icon’s January 10 death. Nominees for best song of summer will be announced at a later date.
