Beyoncé And Adele Receive Emmy Nominations
Since Lemonade’s debut, Bey has toured the world in support of her sixth solo studio album, which boasts tracks like “Formation”, “Freedom”, and “Sorry”. Adele’s concert special Live In New York City was nominated for five Emmys: Outstanding Variety Special, Outstanding Directing, Outstanding Hairstyling, Outstanding Lighting Design/Direction and Outstanding Technical Direction.

Beyoncé’s “Lemonade”, her album that was accompanied with an HBO special featuring music videos for each track, earned nominations for outstanding variety special and outstanding directing for a variety special.

And finally, Lemonade as a whole has been nominated in the Outstanding Variety Special category, up against Adele Live In New York City, Amy Schumer: Live At The Apollo, The Kennedy Center Honors and The Late Late Show Carpool Karaoke Prime Time Special.
Another notable Emmys nod went to songwriter Diane Warren, who is up for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for writing the music and lyrics for ‘Til It Happens To You.
The duo are up against Grease: Live, the Grammy Awards broadcast, the Kennedy Center Honors broadcast and live specials from Adele and Amy Schumer. The song featured on Oscar-nominated documentary The Hunting Ground, which shines a light on sex attacks at USA college campuses.
