Lemonade teased fans with the controversial lyrics to the song Sorry, “He better call Becky with the good hair”.

The internet exploded with masses of people searching online for who this “Becky” person was with a number of celebs rumoured to be the face behind the mask. Designer Rachel Roy ended up in the firing line as a likely Becky, and everyone from Rita Ora to Taylor Swift were considered candidates.

Well, wonder no more with Diana Gordon who was the main writer behind the song, confirming that Becky isn’t anyone in particular.

‘I laughed, like this is so silly. “Where are we living?” she said. “I didn’t want [to do] that because my background is in the church”, she said. Is it really telling you all that much, accusing people?

Asked about the “Formation” singer’s reaction to the huge buzz that “Sorry” created, Gordon admitted, “I don’t think she expected it”.

Gordon admitted that the “Formation” singer was stunned by the enormous buzz her song had created. She had a pajama party; we laughed, we danced, we hugged it out. “I watched the HBO special just like everyone else”. But according to Diana Gordon, the songwriter behind the song, we’ve been reading way too deeply into it. Becky isn’t an actual person in Beyoncé’s life.

Beyoncé’ is now on The Formation Worldwide Tour.

The search for Becky had the Bey-hive pointed virtual fingers at the likes of stylist Rachel Roy – whose Instagram account was inundated with lemon emojis – and Rita Ora.

Gordon, though, is appreciative she got to work with an artist as prolific as Queen Bey. “There is no truth to the rumors”.

‘Beyoncé is a scientist of songs.

Since the song’s May release, fans have speculated that the line is veiled reference to a woman with whom Beyonce’s husband, Jay Z, had an affair.

Roy found herself the target of a torrent of online abuse had her Gmail and iCloud accounts hacked and her mobile phone number changed without her permission.

“But she definitely doesn’t take things as is, at least not from me”.

‘It’s more of a collaboration. She captioned the picture saying: “When someone is cruel or acts like a bully you don’t stoop to their level #MichelleObama grace strength intelligence”.
