Beyonce Faces Lawsuit Over ‘Lemonade’ Trailer

Matthew Fulks is suing Beyonce and her record label, saying much of the “Lemonade” trailer completely rips off his 2014 short film, “Palinoia”.

Yep…apparently no one has ever thought to use those spaces in creative works until Fulks came along.

Filmmaker Matthew Fulks has filed a lawsuit against Beyoncé, Sony, Columbia, and Parkwood Entertainment over the promotion video for her new album. The lawsuit claims that back in July, Younce requested Fulks’ email and that later he sent the plaintiff a note acknowledging that he had received his “info” with an invitation to submit a treatment for consideration by Columbia. In a world where timing is everything, this was five mores before filming began for Lemonade. “The misappropriated content includes both the particular elements that the Plaintiff chose to comprise the PALINOIA Work and the coordination and arrangement of those particular elements”.

In a suit filed Wednesday in a NY federal court and obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Fultz says the singer’s 60-second trailer stole nine visual similarities from his 2014 work.

“The lawsuit, which Beyonce has yet to comment on, seeks “profits attributed to exploitation of Fulks” work”.

Beyoncé’s representatives have yet to respond to the accusations.

Check out the two projects below to see if you think his claim has any merit.
