Beyonce nearly falls during Super Bowl halftime performance

Queen Bey will embark on her first headlining stadium tour this summer with the 40-date Formation tour, set to begin April 27.

The new tour comes right after the release of her new track “Formation” and her performance with Coldplay and Bruno Mars at Super Bowl 50.

While Coldplay were the headliners, opening with “Yellow“, followed by “Viva La Vida”, “Paradise” and “Adventures of a Lifetime”, they were upstaged by the arrival of Mark Ronson and Bruno, followed by Beyonce.

Twitter users felt the singer taught viewers more than they bargained for with her performance and new video, with one writing: “Beyoncé just gave America a Black history lesson this week”.

The superstar was joined by her incredible troupe of dancers but when a camera panned to the blonde singer during a dance-off she almost lost it in more ways than one.

Coldplay then continued their performance with their song “Fix You” while paying tribute to all of the past halftime shows.

The Super Bowl half-time performances are ones that are often upbeat and powerful, however Coldplay was a little lacking in that department, possibly due to their song choices.

Martin ended the show with “Beautiful Day” with Beyonce and Mars joining in to sing the lyrics, “Somehow we’re gonna get it together”, as the crowd in the stands held up signs that spelled out “Believe in Love”.

The Broncos returned to the field to beat the Panthers 24-10.

Earlier in the Super Bowl, Lady Gaga – best known for her outrageous outfits and hyper-sexual stage persona – delivered a classic and at times jazzy rendition of the national anthem.
