Beyonce Officially Has More VMAs Than Madonna

For the last two decades, artists have used the award show to put on public displays of affection for their partner or to make a statement that they’re newly single. Blue Ivy walked the red carpet of the event in a dress estimated to be worth about $11,000 which is over N4.5million. With 24 Moonmen amassed over the years, Beyoncé broke the all-time record for most wins at the Video Music Awards, surpassing Madonna, who has 20 Moonmen.

“That happened”, Graves announced, as Chance danced around her, exclaiming: “This my life, B!”

On the VMAs white carpet, the Carter ladies posed alongside “Mothers of the Movement” including Sybrina Fulton, Lezley McSpadden and Gwen Carr – who lost their sons Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown and Eric Garner in tragic shootings and appeared in the songstress’ “Lemonade” album holding pictures of their late sons. And while MTV would probably not pass up panning the camera to Jay Z’s face while his wife sang those now-infamous lyrics, “You Better Call Becky with the good hair”, there wasn’t an opportunity to do so.

She also quipped, “I couldn’t see the full because everybody was punching each other in the face to get a good shot of her, but I saw a lot of blue feathers, like a whole bunch of blue feathers, and little baby Blue Ivy”.

She moved on to “Hold Up” and “Sorry”, showing Beyonce’s more visceral side.
