Beyonce wins big at MTV Video Music Awards

Kanye West missed his dress rehearsal before the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Sunday (08.28.16) night. “She’s a living breathing legend in our industry”.

During her performance the singer also had her backup dancers – dressed as bright, white angels – appear to be shot one by one.

Rihanna is now the second youngest recipient of the award, after Janet Jackson who won it at age 24. So, throughout the night she rocked a slew of different outfits for her four different performances, but it was her after party look that was our absolute favorite.

Even though Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, and Amber Rose have all made up after their Twitter fiasco, the controversial fashion designer gave his ex-girlfriend a special shout out during his speech by saying, “I see you Amber” (which Amber Rose herself acknowledged with a nod and a smile), while adding that Kim Kardashian “is a G”.

Rihanna was given this honour at the 2016 MTV VMAs and reminds us that not only does this mean so much to her but to her family, fans, country, women and so many more. I’m standing in front of the future, Chance the Rapper. “It’s hard to believe that 11 years later all three of us would come together to create the visuals for a song called ‘Work'”. “The rapper-singer-producer performed his hit “(Expletive) Up Some Commas”. As Lochte – who is dealing with trouble after filing a false robbery report over an incident during the Rio Olympics – Fallon lied onstage about writing Justin Bieber’s Sorry and directing the clips nominated for video of the year. Kim also took a minute to pose with several Olympians, including the Final Five gymnastics team (minus the sick Gabby Douglas).

Adele was behind Beyonce with eight nominations.

Queen B took home Moonmen for “Best Female Video”, “Best Pop Video”, “Breakthrough Long Form Video”, “Best Choreography”, “Best Editing”, “Best Cinematography”, “Best Direction” and – last but not least – “Video of the Year”, officially surpassing Madonna’s record of 20. Fifth Harmony was a double victor, taking home song of summer and best collaboration video.
