Beyond Clinton vs. Trump, Green Party Convention Kicks Off
“Lastly, this is an election that more and more people aren’t going to be swayed by the argument that if you don’t vote for X, you’re going to get Y. Both Clinton and Trump are the two most hated politicians in America and other parties, namely the Greens and the Libertarians, offer alternative views”, he said.

In May, Stein told The Hill that she would “feel horrible” if either Trump or Clinton won the White House.
However well the two third party tickets do, there is no reason – none – to believe they will have a significant impact on the presidential race this year. They cite an early poll indicating perhaps 40 percent would not vote for her-or more recent ones suggesting about 20 percent will vote against her or stay home.
Never before has it been so apparent that our political process has become dominated by backroom deals, corporations and super PACs. It’s not as if support for third-party candidates spiked hugely in Republican and Democratic bastions compared to swing states. “I’m a Democrat, and that’s worth fighting for”. We need candidates that answer to voters, not big-money interests.
The Green Party is holding its presidential nominating convention in Houston, Texas this weekend at a time when a fledgling Arkansas party seeks to attract Bernie Sanders supporters to its cause. She’ll have to get to 15 percent to secure a spot at the presidential debates alongside Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, and possibly Gary Johnson, the Libertarian candidate, whose polling averages lie south of 10 percent.
The presumptive nominees of the Democratic and Republican parties are the most unpopular in history.
What is sinister about her candidacy is the freaky stance she’s taken on vaccines.
The Green Party will nearly certainly benefit from this year’s tension between disenchanted supporters of Sen.
While voters are less than thrilled with Clinton and Trump, it’s unclear how competitive a third-party bid would be. Stein picked up a massive amount of support after Bernie Sanders ended his campaign. Stein has been pretty clear that she doesn’t have much use for either one of the major political parties.
Dorianne Dias is a Bernie Sanders supporter from Batesville who recently made the trip to Philadelphia to serve as a delegate in the Democratic National Convention. She added, “And this is like the paradigm for how public health works in this country and it’s outrageous, you know”. “While we may not agree on whether that is possible, I respect her passion to fight for the people and wish her the best in her effort”.
However, the Iowa Green Party lost ballot status after its candidate for governor did not receive 2 percent of the total votes cast in the 2002 election.

“In the process of vetting and selecting a VP, I was honored to talk with several inspired activists”, Stein said in the statement.
