Bhagwant Mann to Stay Away From Parliament Until Probe Complete

After the huge uproar over AAP MP Bhagwant Mann’s Parliament security breach video, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan on Monday said that a committee will probe the matter and submit its report.

Mann was under fire after he recorded a video of Parliament premises and uploaded it on social media which was then shared several times. The other MPs from across the parties came together to take on Mann and accused him of risking security of parliament.

The issue led to Lok Sabha proceedings being washed out while the Rajya Sabha was adjourned thrice before being adjourned for the day in the afternoon.

The AAP leader had uploaded on social media the 11-minute clip taken on his way to Parliament which he claimed was meant to point out the security lapses. He also said that he had urged the speaker to change his seat because of that.

Bhagwant Mann submitted what he described as “an unconditional apology” to Ms Mahajan last week with little effect. His action raised questions over the safety of lawmakers and prompted several law makers to demand a privilege motion against him.
