Bharti Airtel to offer three months of unlimited data for Rs 1494

Airtel seems to have taken this step to compete with the disruptive data offers by Reliance Jio. As part of the deal, the customer can use 30 GB of data free in a month.

The company said that it is offering 90 days free data plan priced at Rs 1,494 specifically for existing 4G users.

For the past couple of months, Airtel has been at loggerheads with the new entrant Reliance Jio over its predatory trial offer.

Commenting on the offer, Ajai Puri, Director – Operations (India & South Asia), Bharti Airtel said, “At Airtel, we are focused on providing great value to customers”.

The pack is now available in Delhi and will be launched across other circles over the next few days, the company further said.

Newsletter has been successfully subscribed. New users will be able to avail it through first recharge of Rs 1494. Other operators such as Vodafone and Idea Cellular have already started feeling the heat and have slashed their 4G data rates.

After crying wolf over Reliance Jio’s free offerings, rival Bharti Airtel has decided that if you can’t beat it, it’s better to join in.

Reliance is now offering the “Jio Welcome Offer” giving users unlimited 4G Internet until December 31, with a 4GB data cap per day – exceeding this limit will bring the speed down to 128Kbps.

Reliance Jio 4G is undoutedly the latest talk of the town.

However, for the extra money, the additional benefits available to Jio users in this case is the free local and STD voice calls and free subscription to all Jio apps, might be interesting for some users. He confirmed that there will be new free plan launch in January 2016 but declined to reveal any further information.
