Bidding closed Monday morning, on a Leonard Fournette game-worn jersey, with $101,000 ticketed for South Carolina flood relief.
LSU was scheduled to play at South Carolina on October 10, but the game was relocated to LSU just days before the game because flooding in Columbia, S.C., forced a change of venue. The auction started the package off at ,000, and it was far surpassed. A notarized letter of authenticity will be presented to the victor of the auction.
The auction will run from 7 a.m. Connecticut on Saturday, November 7 until 11 a.m. Connecticut on Monday, November 9. Those interested in placing bids can do so at www.LSUauction.net.
Fournette said after the game he wanted to auction off his jersey to help flood victims. “The generosity of people helped my family make it through Hurricane Katrina”. The proceeds go to benefitting the people affected by the South Carolina floods last month. Although the products on the website did not use Leonard Fournette’s name or image, the products offered clearly link back to Leonard with his popular catchphrase BUGA (Being United Generates Attitude) being emblazoned on all of the products.

“What Leonard has done is a tremendous gesture from a student-athlete with a much bigger vision than outcomes of games”, LSU vice chancellor and director of athletics Joe Alleva said.
