Biden, aides talking with supporters about possible presidential run
Regardless, both the Times and CNN assert that Biden has still not made up his mind.

Biden has returned to full involvement in political and official work after a period of mourning the death of his son Beau. The New York Times reported on Saturday that the vice president is actively exploring a potential campaign.
Final month, that it was the want of Biden’s late son, Beau, and his youthful brother, Hunter, that their father make yet one more run for the White Home.
Obama later chose Biden as his running mate.
After the assembly, there was hypothesis within the Clinton camp that Biden’s staff seemed to be sounding out prime fundraisers about whether or not Biden might increase the required money to compete with the Democratic front-runner, Fox Information stated. Her use of a private e-mail server for business communications has raised concerns that classified communications may have been compromised – a suggestion Clinton vehemently denies – and the relationship of her family’s foundation to individuals and corporations with interests before the U.S. government also have raised ethical questions.
Beau Biden, a former attorney general of Delaware who was dying of brain cancer at the time, tried to get his father to promise he would run.
1 (UPI) – Vice President Joseph R. Biden, Jr., is said to be considering a campaign to replace President Barack Obama when he leaves office – a move that would quickly make him one of the top Democratic frontrunners in 2016.
The speculation intensified Thursday when friends of Clinton’s spotted Ricchetti having breakfast at the Four Seasons in Washington with Louis B. Susman, a major donor and former ambassador to Britain.
Yet the silence from Biden hasn’t sapped the hope from all of his supporters, even though they recognize his focus is elsewhere.
Biden has been slowly returning to a normal schedule following the death of his son two months ago. “In recent weeks, the vice president has worked on the nuclear deal with Iran, traveled across the country to highlight the administration’s economic priorities and more”.
If he does, the run won’t be easy, as he would start off his campaign with nearly no support, which is much needed considering the growing strength of his main competitor.
That left some prominent Democrats non-plussed. He has not discounted those arguments, Democrats close to him say, and he feels no pressure to reach a decision by the end of summer as he once suggested.

I tend to agree that it is wholly plausible that Mr. Biden will carry the Democratic banner.
