Biden plays nice while picking sides in Florida Senate race

“It’s not true”, The Hill reported, adding that Reid then replied to Grayson, “It is true and I want you to lose”. Metaphorically at least. He was looking for Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, and when found him he ended up screaming Destiny’s Child lyrics at him.

Grayson, who has built a national progressive following in part for his willingness to break with Democratic leadership, is running to fill the Florida Senate seat being vacated by Sen.

“The Progressive Caucus is a place to fight for progressive values, not fight for Alan Grayson’s narcissistic desire to hear someone say his name”, read a statement from Murphy. He has assailed Grayson over an ethics investigation focused on a hedge fund that Grayson ran with operations in the Cayman Islands.

“He’s a smear-monger”, Grayson told reporters just off the House floor later Wednesday, arguing that Reid was spreading lies about him and he didn’t do anything improper.

“It is true, and I want you to lose”, Reid fired back. “I’m fighting for progressive values, Alan Grayson is fighting for himself”.

Murphy shot back in a statement: “If Alan Grayson is trying to prove that he’s a lot like Donald Trump, he’s succeeding”. Reid said he did and expressed his “low opinion” of Grayson. When asked if anyone on the House ethics committee has questioned him, Grayson cited confidentiality rules about matters before the panel.

Grayson, 58, has denied wrongdoing, calling the allegations politically motivated and “utterly frivolous”.

Biden said Grayson is “a fine guy”, but he endorsed Murphy because he thinks he’ll work better with Republicans.

Each member took their chance to speak to Reid, who was invited to appear at Wednesday’s meeting.

Florida Congressmen Alan Grayson stormed into yesterday’s meeting of the Progressive Caucus apparently thinking he was Beyoncé armed with a baseball bat in the “Hold Up” video ready to righteously smash things up with a devious smile on his face.

According to members in the meeting, it got awkward when the third-term lawmaker stood up and repeatedly asked if Reid knew his name.
