Biden: Trump’s claim to back middle class is ‘malarkey’
Vice President Joe Biden kicked off Wednesday night’s headliners with a personal and passionate speech applauding the “unbreakable” spirit of the American people and attacking Donald Trump at the Democratic National Convention.

Coming 12 years to the day after Obama, then a freshman senator from IL, addressed the Democratic National Convention in Boston, the president, now in the last months of his term, again made the point that we are stronger together.
In a fierce takedown of the Republican nominee, Biden said that Trump has “no clue” about the American middle class and lambasted him as the least prepared major-party candidate in history.
Dr. Jill Biden and Vice President Joe Biden wave after speaking to delegates during the third day session of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Wednesday, July 27, 2016. He’s trying to tell us he cares about the middle class? “And I promise you, our strength, our greatness, does not depend on Donald Trump”, said Obama.
In contrast, Biden said about Democratic presumptive nominee Hillary Clinton that she “understands” the plight of parents who can not afford to send their child to college or the wife fearful that a medical emergency will cause economic catastrophe, NBC News noted.
“The’s the embodiment of honor, resolve and character – one of the finest presidents we have ever had”, Biden said.
Pivoting to foreign policy, Biden struck a serious tone and said America “cannot elect a man who exploits our fears about ISIS and terrorism”. “I ask you to carry her the same way you carried me”. “It’s not new to her”, he said.
He continued, “When the middle class does well, the rich do very well and the poor have hope”.
Once considered a potential Democratic presidential contender, Biden silenced and enraptured convention-goers as he praised the “American values” that middle-class voters identify with and used them as an argument against Trump. “God help us. I’m A New Yorker and I know a con when I see one”. That’s not the America I know.
“Everybody knows she’s smart”. She’s always there. She’s always been there.
Drawing chants of “Not a clue” from the floor of the Democratic Party convention in Philadelphia, Biden took Trump to task for his trademark reality TV slogan, “You’re fired”.
The Clinton campaign has sought to portray Trump, who has no experience in public office, as temperamentally unfit for the White House. “That’s a bunch of malarkey!” And that is not the America I know. “We simply can not let that happen as Americans, period”.
“I am more optimistic about the future of America than ever before”.
He said that will happen because the USA leads “not only by the example of our power but by the power of our example”.
