So, what was it about rural Virginia that so inspired Trigiani?
Trigiani’s small-town, smaller-stakes tale introduces Ave Maria (Ashley Judd) of Big Stone Gap, Va., an unmarried 40-year-old who doesn’t know where the time’s gone.
