Big Ten Bowl Preview: Pinstripe Bowl
Duke and IN will face off IN the 2015 Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadium on Saturday. Not only that, but Wilson’s work with the offensive line (He’s a former offensive lineman himself) has been phenomenal, producing two All-Americans this year in Jason Spriggs and Dan Feeney. “To be a bowl team. It’s more important that you win the bowl, but it’s a great experience”. That’s what we all came here to do.

Duke’s offensive coordinator, who filled East Carolina’s head- coaching vacancy earlier this month, has had no trouble with the balancing act of preparing for a bowl game with his old team while managing the responsibilities that come with taking the reins of another program. Every football fanbase deserves an opportunity to celebrate every now and then, and after the drastic fits and starts of the last two seasons, Kevin Wilson’s Hoosiers finally advanced to the six-win mark. This is Duke’s fourth straight bowl appearance.
Allen and Ingram have shown flashes of greatness for the Blue Devils, but the team just took a huge hit with Amile Jefferson’s recent foot injury. So, there rush defense should be tested big time by an IN rushing offense that averages over 200 yards per game. Duke draws a large portion of its student body from NY, which ranks third among states in its current freshman class. More than 42,000 in alumni live within a 250-mile radius of NY, according to the school, with more than 13,000 living in greater metropolitan NY.
IDS: Quarterback Thomas Sirk is Duke’s dual-threat catalyst on offense, what kind of things does this offense do to utilize his skillset best? Max McCaffrey (48 rec., 601 yds) and T.J. Rahming (40 rec., 522 yds) are Duke’s primary targets in the passing game, however McCaffrey has been the one to find the end zone with a team-high five receiving touchdowns.
IN knows slowing down Sirk is key.
“That’s what these last few days have been about, really to get our timing back and just to get the pads cracking again”, he said. “It’s not giving him options”. Not only would Duke be without the ACC Defensive Player of the Year, but Cash’s career as a Duke Football player had officially ended.
Coach Kevin Wilson chose to have the Hoosiers (6-6) practice on Fordham’s field in advance of Saturday’s meeting with the Blue Devils (7-5).
The problem though is that Duke hasn’t won a bowl game under Cutcliffe. “He really wants us to go hard this year”. However, to their credit, they finished the season with back-to-back wins over Maryland and Purdue to get bowl eligible. Not only is the Pinstripe Bowl a big program game for Duke, but for this season alone as well.
IN is 5-1 against the spread in their last six non-conference games, 5-0 against the spread following a win, and 6-1 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread. Receivers Simmie Cobbs Jr., Ricky Jones and Mitchell Paige combined to catch 14 of those scores.

I realize injuries happen in football, but in just does not have the depth to deal with injuries to its two best players, Sudfeld and Howard.
