Bigger Is Better? Hillary Clinton Using Customized Podium For Donald Trump Debate

The first debate – held at Hofstra University on Long Island in Hempstead, New York – will be moderated by NBC News’ Lester Holt at 9 p.m. ET and will last for about 90 minutes with no commercial breaks.

The two candidates couldn’t be more different – and the polls have never been closer.

Trump’s aides for their part have sought to reinforce voter doubts about Clinton’s trustworthiness.

“It helps the audience, particularly me, to recognise what’s bull crap and what’s real”, said Harvey Leven, 63, a teacher from Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Clinton maintains her lead in most polls but only by the smallest of margins.

Clinton leads by 4 percentage points nationwide – down from 13 points in early August – but she’s in a good place because almost half of voters (47 percent) say it is very important to them to make sure Trump does not get elected.

The four women on the list are all supporters who have developed a special relationship with Clinton over the years. Clinton and Trump have been fiercely battling each other in speeches, attack ads and more these past few months, but this is America (and the world’s) first opportunity to see their differences on stage face-to-face.

Ms Flowers initially said she would attend but Mr Trump’s running mate, Mike Pence, said on Sunday she was not coming and the suggestion was not a serious one.

As to the implications for New Zealand in the case of a Clinton versus Trump Presidency, it’s a little harder to predict, he said. “Grow up and talk about your plan”.

The new survey is a bit of good news for Clinton.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted online in English in all 50 states.

The results of the CBS News 2016 “Battleground Tracker” reflect a panel study based on 3,315 online interviews of voters in the three states conducted September 21-23. It comes as opinion polls show a tight race between Clinton, a former secretary of state, and Trump, six weeks before the November 8 election.
