New improvements and features will be introduced, says Phil Spencer, head of Microsoft’s Xbox.

During Microsoft’s post-briefing E3 demo showcase, we were shown the final production model of the Xbox One S. Not to be confused with the so-called “Project Scorpio”, this is essentially the same console in a much smaller package. Players can enjoy crossover gaming between Xbox One and Windows 10 with all gamemodes as well as cross-shopping, so if you buy an item on one platform you also receive it on the other platform. Not to mention, the system is believed to have more RAM and improved memory bandwidth over the Xbox One’s 8GB DDR3, in addition to an improved CPU. Microsoft spent a lot of time during the annual Xbox E3 briefing emphasizing its renewed commitment to a very sure thing: the PC.

If you’ve ever tried plugging in a rechargeable controller battery or external hard drive for storage, you know that the placement of the USB slots on the side and back of the original Xbox One can be a hindrance.

While E3 is meant to celebrate all things gaming, it’s also a spectator sport.

Keyboard and mouse support on the Xbox One opens it up to a whole new set of games that have previously been the domain of PCs – MOBAs and RTSes may be encouraged to find a place on console, as they’d no longer have to be limited by the controllers with which Xbox One owners game.

It’s even unclear whether the Xbox One S, Microsoft’s new slimmed-down Xbox, will see a slight boost in performance over the vanilla Xbox One.

The Xbox One is at its best value since Black Friday 2015. He then talked about how Microsoft has released games on Steam in the past, including the Age of Empires II HD remake, as well as the fantastic Ori and the Blind Forest, finally stating “we will ship games on Steam again”. Its E3 2016 playlist is rather extensive and contains 44 videos such as Xbox partner game announcement/trailer videos.

Without launching into an overly technical explanation, the Scorpio graphic processor’s (GPU) 6 teraflops put it somewhere between the popular GTX 980 (5.3 teraflops) and GTX 980 Ti (6.5 teraflops) from Nvidia. The game is visually lovely and allows players to make their way down mountains with skis and snowboards, or sail across the sky as a paraglider, or the one that most caught my attention as a base jumper with a wing suit.

However, it appears that only the $399.99 2 TB version will launch in August.

Both of those cards are powerful enough to support native 4K gaming on a computer, usually with an individual game’s graphics settings falling somewhere in the low to medium range.
