Biggest Blow To Trump Yet!: Tim Tebow Turns Down RNC Speaker Spot

Tim Tebow is not speaking at the Republican National Convention, despite what an RNC spokesman told Fox News on Thursday.

Justin Smith, Sandusky County’s Republican Party chairman, said he did not know anybody else in the county who will be traveling to the convention.

Tebow was not on the speakers list put out by convention planners Thursday, but Republicans and Donald Trump officials said they hoped the Heisman Trophy victor would make an appearance next week in Cleveland.

That means 36 state delegates will go for Trump; 13 will vote for Texas Sen. They also lost a vote against binding delegates.

Benton says he will attend the Convention as a liaison between the Trump campaign and the Washington Delegation.

In the end a handful of angry delegates at the Republican National Convention rules committee meeting couldn’t undo the will of more than 14 million Republican voters who chose Donald Trump as their party nominee.

Indeed, this has been a leading concern among Democratic donors, who’ve made no secret of their fear about Republicans dumping Trump for a less ridiculous – and more electable – presidential candidate.

“It was never real, it was always overblown”, said Ron Kaufman, a delegate from MA.

Thursday morning he was among the biggest stars featured on Donald Trump’s convention lineup.

Bush isn’t the first anti-Trump Republican to suggest that he might vote Libertarian this fall. While the “Never Trump” crowd might not be successful in preventing the nomination, it appears they are not going out without a bang. Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, has 1,543 delegates bound to him on the first ballot, well above the 1,237 needed for nomination, or to change the rules. He helped engineer a pro-Trump slate of delegates to represent Alabama on key convention committees and opposes any effort to replace Trump as the nominee.

Morrill said the country was founded on the rule of the law, but she feels something has changed in America.

Angry delegates might also attempt to be recognized to officially register opposition to Trump or to force an hours-long roll call of the states, which would upend a speakers schedule aimed at prime-time television coverage.

New Jersey Republican National Committeeman Bill Palatucci, an adviser to Gov. Chris Christie and another member of the rules committee, called Lonegan’s efforts “a complete waste of time” and said he had “zero impact”. They focused on conservative proposals aimed at appealing to grassroots conservatives that would take power away from Priebus and the 168-member RNC.
