Bihar election 2015: Grand alliance MLAs likely to elect Nitish as leader

A BJP MP on Tuesday held Prime Minister Narendra Modi responsible for NDA’s poor show in the Bihar assembly elections.

Analysts and economists said that the Bihar election was a wake-up call for the BJP-led government to focus more on reforms and economic development rather than a Hindu agenda.

Gogoi also took a dig at the Hindutva ideology of the BJP and said: “Whatever tactics the BJP is going to resort to, they are not going to succeed unless they come out from the grip of the RSS.

“A principal reason for the latest defeat is the way the party has been emasculated in the a year ago”.

He ruled out the possibility of Shah quitting his post following the debacle.

The hefty score of 178 seats in the Bihar 243-member assembly for Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s grand alliance demolished virtually all poll predictions, including the highly acclaimed NDTV.
