Bihar elections: Exit polls divided over results
Analysts said Bihar, with more than 66 million voters, is a test for Mr Modi because he was the face of the BJP’s election campaign, and addressed more than 25 rallies.

Such actions, however, are potent enough to have a great impact on the future course of action in Bihar.
The high-decibel Bihar assembly elections concluded today with a record turnout of 57 percent this year. “Meanwhile, I am not in the race”.
The election is being portrayed as a battle between the National Democratic Alliance, which used an aggressive campaign led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Nodi’s fierce rival Nitish Kumar, who is bidding for another term as Chief Minister in Bihar.
At Janata Dal (United) [JD(U)] and RJD offices across the State, a coherent storyline was offered to explain the last 25 years of Bihar’s history, dominated by the two men: in the first phase, Mr. Prasad awakened the OBCs and the Dalits to their rights and gave them a voice; in the second phase, Mr. Kumar delivered the fruits of development to these sections.
“If the exit polls don’t show clear direction, the market will remain range-bound and may struggle to hold current levels”, said Deven Choksey, the Mumbai-based managing director at brokerage K.R. Choksey Shares & Securities Pvt., referring to equities.
“The entire backward community of Bihar has voted for us”, he told reporters in Patna. “We salute them for this”. So, much importance may not be attached to the outcome of exit polls and surveys.
News X-CNX exit poll predicts that the Grand Alliance will get 132, BJP and allies 93 and others 18. It forecast a mere eighty three seats to the JD-D, the RJD and the Congress. Others, it said, could garner 13-23 seats, which was the highest for “other parties” by any pollster. The votes will be counted on Sunday morning.
The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) today said it will not support the BJP-led NDA to form the government in Bihar in case of a hung assembly.
On the other hand, if the Grand Alliance flayed the Modi dispensation at the centre for cheating the people by assuring to bring back black-money stashed in foreign countries and control the galloping price hike – ostensibly with the avowed objective to tarnish the NDA and woo the voters in their favour – the non-NDA forces can not run away from their responsibilities to protect the interests of the people of the State. Four to eight seats might go to different events.
BJP-led NDA will bag 155 seats while Grand Alliance will get 83 seats. For public consumption the BJP spoke of Modi’s new magic which would ensure that ” 2 plus 2 would be less than 4″ for the Nitish-RJD alliance.
The elections have so far seen a close contest between the Nitish Kumar-led alliance and the BJP-led front.
In the first phase comprising 49 seats, the Grand Alliance has been given 28 seats and the NDA 20.
The only exit poll which endorses the extraordinary chemistry claimed by Amit Shah is the one put out by Chanakya.

Earlier on Thursday, nearly 60 % of the 1.fifty five crore citizens turned out to vote in the final of the fifty seven constituencies unfold throughout seven districts: Kishangaj, Purnea, Araria, Katihar, Saharasa, Madhepura and Supaul. “We had no problem broadcasting that”, a source in the channel said, “With the exit poll we had doubts over the methodology so we chose to not go ahead with it”. Perhaps, the presence of people from Bihar would have helped the BJP in Bihar elections.
