The Ghanaian was withdrawn 35 minutes into his maiden appearance for the Hammers in a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Monday after hurting his thigh.

The match on Sunday will be West Ham’s first Premier League game at their new London Stadium and comes nearly a year to the day after they lost 4-3 at home to Eddie Howe’s men. “They put us under pressure and took risks, which gave us space up front”.

Boss Bilic fielded a team of youngsters for last year’s clash but is taking this season’s competition seriously and brought a strong squad, even though he has a growing injury list.

“Hopefully that will come on Sunday”, he said. Remember being a great atmosphere for the London Olympics when I visited it with my family. “It’s their first game in the stadium but none of that matters to us, we have to play the right way and attack as we usually do”.

“It’s not ideal, but it’s a situation we have to cope with”.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth struggled to get out of first gear against a classy Manchester United side that eventually turned the Cherries over by a 3-1 score line. “We wanted to try it and hopefully we’re going to make it”.

West Ham lost their opening game of the season in controversial fashion against Chelsea as they conceded a late Costa strike, who should have been sent off for a second bookable offence earlier in the game.

“We have overseen one of the most successful stadium moves in the history of football”, vice chairman Karren Brady told Sky Sports News.
