Bilic ready to welcome back West Ham’s Messi

Troy Deeney claimed West Ham star Dimitri Payet was the inspiration for Watford’s awesome comeback at the London Stadium – accusing the mercurial Frenchman of “trying to mug us off” with an outrageous assist.

“Three games and no goal, I am not bothered because I will go step by step and I know the goals will soon start flowing again”, he said ahead of Saturday’s game against West Ham at the London Stadium.

West Ham supporters fought among themselves and clashed with stewards and visiting fans in what was just the club’s second Premier League game at their new home – though police made no arrests inside the ground.

To make matters worse for the Hammers, they threw away a 2-0 lead in front of their own fans – to lose 4-2 to Watford in their most recent outing.

Ighalo gave them hope when four minutes from half-time the Nigerian scored with a great individual effort, cutting in from the left and his shot took a deflection off James Collins to beat Adrian.

West Ham fans will like their chances of this Saturday against struggling Watford.

West Ham have worked hard behind-the-scenes to attract a new generation of supporters to the former Olympic Stadium, offering season-tickets for £99 to youngsters. “I don’t think they were doing it for that reason, but I need to thank them – they got the boys up and running”. “I really didn’t see anything”, Bilic said.

Slaven Bilic’s side were pegged back by Watford after two first-half Michail Antonio goals appeared to have set the team on the way to a comfortable victory.
