Bill Bailey tackles infinite space in new No Man’s Sky video
The PS4 and PC title has been on every sci-fi fans radar as far back as 2013 when it was first announced and is already causing quite a stir in the gaming community having now been officially released to the world. A typical Call of Duty: Black Ops III bundle will run you $350 and No Man’s Sky + Uncharted 4 $120 at full price, so the bundle has a $70 bonus in total. More surprising is that the game of this magnitude was developed by just 15 persons. Tesco are now beating rivals by giving the game away for free with purchase of a new 500GB or 1TB PS4 console. Instead, the star of the show is the set of algorithms at its core – lines of code capable of generating terrain, plants and even unique wildlife on-the-fly. No Man’s Sky’s 15 member British developers made this possible through a smart use of technology. Unfortunately, it seems No Man’s Sky is another example of the kind of performance throttling that we’re talking about, at least it seems from the framerate test anyway!

“Playing No Man’s Sky is an immersive and fantastical journey of exploration where you can discover and name entire planets, as I did with Bill-topia”, said Bailey while playing the game during filming.
