Bill Clinton admits that some foundation donors expected favors

It’s a “bad idea” one former official told Politico.

“[The Fed] has more data than I do”.

The ex-president gave the interview on the occasion of the Clinton Global Initiative annual meeting, which kicked off its session Monday in Midtown.

Bill Clinton, in what aides said was a speech he wrote himself, stressed what CGI – which is part of the foundation and matches funders with causes – has accomplished over the last 15 years. It also said Chelsea Clinton should end her involvement if her mother wins in November.

Some believed that the layoffs were handled in an insensitive way.

Other argued that keeping people employed, even if its a limited number, will continue to plague Hillary Clinton’s political career.

US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, however, will miss the Clinton Foundation’s Global Initiative (CGI) event, it has emerged.

“Nobody in my family ever took a penny out of this foundation and put millions of dollars in — but I would have paid more to do this job”, Bill Clinton said in an interview with NPR that aired Monday.

Supporters of the foundation say its work has been unnecessarily obscured by presidential politics. ‘But if she was actually the president, it would raise too many questions. “I think it is quite different if the Foundation is operating in America, taking no corporate contributions”.

Chelsea Clinton will be the only Clinton staying on.

After months of weathering mostly partisan attacks, Bill announced in August a series of imminent changes in leadership to the Clinton Foundation should Hillary make it to the White House, including plans to shutter C.G.I., the conference arm of the charity.

The CEO of the Clinton Global Initiative is not pleased with how political coverage has supposedly warped the image of the Clinton Foundation’s charitable work.

Critics have suggested that the Clinton Foundation could create new conflicts of interest for a Clinton administration, an argument that the Clintons have grudgingly accepted – though without explaining why the same arguments would not have applied to her term as Secretary of State. The foundation also agreed to limit foreign donations.

For everyone else, they’ll ‘have their jobs and benefits at least through the end of the calendar year, ‘ the spokesman said, adding that departing employees were getting resume help and hooked up with job leads.

Some staff will remain to continue working with donors, but several CGI employees have already been informed that their jobs will be terminated, according to a report published Tuesday by Politico, citing two former Clinton Foundation officials with knowledge of the matter.
