Bill Clinton: Hillary Clinton has ‘rarely,’ but on occasion, had dehydration spells

Hillary Clinton says she got dizzy but didn’t lose consciousness when she stumbled on the way out of the 9/11 memorial Sunday.

Clinton unexpectedly left Sunday’s 9/11 anniversary ceremony in NY after feeling “overheated”, according to her campaign. Proft, a Trump supporter, said Sunday’s incident does raise legitimate questions about Clinton’s fitness for the job.

“I didn’t think it was going to be a big deal”, she said when asked why she kept the pneumonia a secret.

The billionaire real estate tycoon has brought up Clinton’s state of health often in campaign stops, arguing that she doesn’t have the “strength and stamina” to be president.

“They say pneumonia on Friday, but she was coughing very, very badly a week ago and even before that if you remember, and this was not the first time”, he told CNBC.

“I just thought I could keep going forward and power through it and obviously that didn’t work out so well”.

Clinton spent Monday at her home in Chappaqua, New York, after cancelling a fundraising trip in California.

Trump dismissed suggestions the Democratic Party may be considering replacing the 68-year-old Clinton as its standard bearer in November’s elections, but added: “Whatever it is, it is; I’m ready”.

“We were focused on making sure to track down her doctor, making sure that she had the quickest possible access to medical attention”, campaign manager Robby Mook added.

Trump, who has not yet released his health records, has said he’s now had a physical and plans to release that soon.

Clinton pushed back against that idea Monday night, telling CNN that “people know more about me than nearly anyone in public life”.

“Rarely, on more than one occasion, over the last many, many years, the same sort of thing’s happened to her when she got severely dehydrated, and she’s worked like a demon, as you know, as secretary of state, as a senator, and in the years since”, Bill Clinton told Charlie Rose, in a clip of an interview aired on CBS Monday evening.

The former secretary of state said it is something that has occurred a few times over the course of her life.

Her spokesman Fallon said several senior Clinton collaborators at campaign headquarters in Brooklyn also fell ill in recent weeks, including campaign manager Robby Mook. That was a mistake, Fallon said. It was later revealed she had become dehydrated and was suffering from pneumonia.

Speaking in Maryland Monday, Trump said he was shocked to hear Clinton “attack, slander, smear and demean these wonderful, fantastic people who are supporting our campaign”.

The Clinton campaign did not disclose the diagnosis until the episode on Sunday.

“I still think that we are likely to win, but I think anyone who’s not concerned about a bigoted, KKK-endorsed sociopath being this close right now in the polls is not living in reality”, Regunberg said of Trump.

“I was deeply shocked and alarmed to hear my opponent attack, slander, smear, demean these wonderful, incredible people who are supporting our campaign by the millions”, Trump told a conference of National Guard members in Baltimore.
