Bill Clinton Says Some People Probably Gave to Foundation to Gain Influence

At its height CGI employed about 200 full-time staff, but many have already jumped ship following uncertainty about the foundation’s future if Clinton is elected president.

Bloomberg said on its website that Monday marks the beginning of CGI’s 12th and final annual meeting, that will be “a little less global, lighter on initiative and absent one Clinton”. Some of it went to a unit of the Clinton Foundation in Haiti and some to a charity recruited for the project that works with the Clinton Foundation in Haiti, records and interviews show.

“Chelsea’s got to decide what she’s going to do, but somebody has to stay there” to supervise the “handing off” of the Foundation’s worldwide operations, some of which will be set up as separate foundations, Clinton explained.

The foundation has come under scrutiny after leaked emails suggested its donors were given special access to Hillary Clinton when she was secretary of state.

And they say, by a huge margin, that Hillary Clinton did favors for its donors during her time as secretary of state.

The Clinton Foundation is planning to drop dozens of employees as it winds down most operations, according to a report by Politico, citing “two former Clinton Foundation officials who remain in communication with staff”. He’s ending CGI regardless of the outcome of the election.

The Clinton Foundation’s partner on the project was one of the world’s largest fragrance and flavoring suppliers, Firmenich International SA, along with the Swiss company’s US charity. A celebratory dinner was honoring singer Jon Bon Jovi and Nadia Murad, a Yazidi human rights activist.

The eclectic headliners also underscored the overlap between the Clinton’s charitable work and political ambitions.

Bill Clinton did not directly address those accusations Wednesday, but aides said he viewed his hour-long address touting CGI’s work as an implicit rebuke to critics. “They did great work”.

As a result, Clinton announced in August that the Clinton Global Initiative’s September meeting would be its last. “I wonder if there’s a man in America that could have taken what she’s been through in the a year ago and a half”.

Keny-Guyer described the former president as wistful and sentimental as he prepares to potentially step away from the foundation that has been the cornerstone of his post-White House legacy.

According to Politico the Clinton Foundation has alerted “dozens” of staffers inside the Clinton Global Initiative that their jobs will be eliminated at the end of 2016
