Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, (D), candidate for Democratic presidential nomination in 2015.
Recently, Bill Clinton vowed to remove himself from the foundation’s board of directors if his wife is elected.
The former president’s Nevada speech focused on Hillary Clinton’s economic plans and the need for immigration reform.
“What we have to do when she’s president is we have to actually eliminate any aspect of conflict of interest – so all the worldwide programs are spun off”, she said.
‘These are people any secretary of state would have seen.I don’t see evidence that there was policy decisions made as a result of that other than courtesy appointments, ‘ she said.
“First and foremost, I should do whatever I’m asked to do”, Mr. Clinton said.
“The most important thing is, this is a magnificent foundation that has reinvented philanthropy”. Clinton has said the process of winding down the group while continuing the charity’s missions will take time, and that the foundation is looking for “partners” to help with the effort.
The campaign says that Clinton’s physician found that the remainder of the Democratic presidential nominee’s complete physical exam was “normal” and she is in “excellent mental condition”. “Now we know that essentially what happened was what happened”. “Nothing threatens the integrity of our democracy more than when government officials put their public office up for sale”. However, in late August the New York Times editorial board demanded that the Clintons cut ties with their own charity: “The Clinton Foundation has become a symbol of the Clintons’ laudable ambitions, but also of their tangled alliances and operational opacity”, it wrote.
The initiative will also stop using “Clinton” in its name, though it will keep the acronym “CHAI”.
Hillary Clinton has “frequently” fainted due to dehydration, according to Bill Clinton. but for some reason CBS removed that comment from its initial airing of the interview.
“This is one state that everyone predicts will be close, because it always had been”, he said. “I certainly did it as Secretary [of Health and Human Resources] with requests from Republicans in Congress so I don’t find it unusual”. In Clinton’s absence, Trump and his surrogates were free to relentlessly attack the former secretary of state with relatively little pushback.
For all his political gifts, Bill Clinton has been an imperfect messenger on his wife’s health this week. But Shalala said that party’s guest list won’t open doors to any new criticisms of the foundation. “The two people are my guests, who I paid for: farmers in North Dakota – my twin sister and her husband”.
