Former President Bill Clinton is expected in Sacramento on May 23 to raise money for his wife’s presidential campaign. Clinton has raised more than $30 million here.
Bill Clinton easily won the state in the 1992 and 1996 general elections.
The former president made a brief surprise campaign stop in Lexington following his Frankfort appearance before concluding the day with an evening stop in Prestonsburg.
Matt Jones, founder of Kentucky Sports Radio, also came to see Clinton.
“He was the first president I remember”, Jones said. Bernie Sander of Vermont by a margin of almost two to one, according to the latest polls.
“Hillary’s comments on coal have hurt her”, he said.
Chelsea Clinton will attend the opening of the Middlesex County Hillary for New Jersey office in Metuchen and urge volunteers to get involved in Bloomfield.

“It was a misstatement because what I was saying is the way things are going now, they will continue to lose jobs”, she said last week in West Virginia. We’ve got to put the wind in her back.
