Bill Clinton to campaign for wife in Dallas

“I believe my aides also acted appropriately”, Clinton told MSNBC. In the meantime, a State Department spokesman says that many of them were plainly personal. However, it was disclosed at a court hearing on August 22 that the FBI had turned over about 14,900 emails to the State Department that it had uncovered during the course of its investigation. Because whenever she does, it sounds pretty bad.

“These are the Wall Street firms who paid Hillary Clinton a quarter of a million dollars each time she delivered her secret remarks”, he added.

“Well, first, What Trump has said is ridiculous”. Powell says he doesn’t recall mentioning it to her until she was already a year into the job. What I’ve learned is that when I try to explain what happened, it can sound like I’m trying to excuse what I did. Schwarzman’s firm is a major Clinton Foundation donor, but he personally donates heavily to GOP candidates and causes. The soccer player’s club owner was a Clinton Foundation donor.

“The Clinton Foundation has posed a very serious conflict of interest for the entire time that it’s existed”, Craig Holman, government affairs lobbyist at Public Citizen told The Hill. The foundation works on worldwide health, development, climate change and women’s issues. Neither my husband nor I have ever drawn a salary from it.

“Are you certain that there are no emails or foundation ties to foreign entities that will be revealed that perhaps permanently impact your presidential prospects?”

In another email forwarded by Band to Abedin, businessman and Clinton Foundation donor Gerardo Wertheim praises a rabbi the USA ambassador in Malta is going to meet with, with Band calling Wertheim a “great friend” and “big supporter”.

Comey at the time didn’t say how many total emails the Federal Bureau of Investigation had recovered or exactly how many of them were work-related.

HILLARY: And Donald Trump doesn’t release his tax returns and is indebted to foreign banks and foreign lenders.

Clinton campaign spokesperson Brian Fallon accused the AP of cherrypicking “a limited subset” of data to give “a distorted portrayal of how often she crossed paths with individuals connected to charitable donations to the Clinton Foundation”. Now, obviously, if I am president, there will be some unique circumstances and that’s why the foundation has laid out additional … Surely that had nothing to do with the fact that the crown prince in 2005 established a scholarship program for the Clinton Global Initiative – a program that by 2010 had contributed $32 million to the CGI.

COOPER: Didn’t those unique circumstances exist … She dodged the question, saying that if she becomes president there would be “unique circumstances”, and when pressed how that was different-why there weren’t “unique circumstances” when she was secretary of state-she answered, “I know there’s a lot of smoke and there’s no fire”.

Again, not the greatest optics.

On Tuesday, an Associated Press report found at least 85 people from private interests who met with or had phone conversations scheduled with Clinton while she led the State Department donated to the Clinton foundation.

The Clinton team argues that Clinton met with thousands of people, not just those 154, and that the AP numbers are out of context and cherry-picked. Their daughter, Chelsea Clinton, will remain on the board to oversee changes on donation policy and moving some of the charity’s work to other organizations. And Clinton’s team pounced on it in order to reframe the whole discussion. Call the question unfair. That’s the pathetic new line of defense crafted by the Clintons and their supporters after another story exposed their nonprofit as a hub to cash in favors.

We will set the record straight and recap what was reported in the initial story, the Clinton campaign’s criticism of the coverage and the AP’s defense. But the thing is, she’s not going to keep getting handed opportunities to shift the narrative like that.

She seems not to recognize that while a good lawyer focuses on what the law allows, a good politician focuses on what the people want. “And it omits more than 1,700 meetings she took with world leaders, let alone countless others she took with other U.S government officials, while serving as Secretary of State”.
