Bill Cosby Posts $1 Million Bail, Surrenders Passport
Andrea Constand, who was working as the manager of the women’s basketball team at Temple in 2004, claims that Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her at his home that year.

In this case, the statute of limitations expires in January.
Cosby faces three felony charges of aggravated indecent assault in the case, which is tied to a 2004 accusation in Montgomery County. Cosby did not have to enter a plea and was allowed to remain free on $1 million bail until another hearing set to take place on January 14.
An arrest warrant was issued for Cosby, Montgomery County First Assistant District Attorney Kevin R. Steele told a news conference.
It’s the first criminal charge against Cosby over his conduct with women, which has received new scrutiny in the past year.
The accusations against Cosby have led television networks to back away from projects connected to him, and several universities have stripped him of honorary degrees. Though they are not named publicly, as many as 13 other women are prepared to testify against the entertainer, according to Constand’s lawyers.
Court documents show Cosby admitted under oath that he obtained quaalude pills to give to women with whom he wanted to have sex. “If Andrea’s case winds up getting the full justice that she deserves, then we are there for her and we would be in court — we would be in court even if we weren’t testifying; we’d be there in the grand stands rooting her on, lending positive vibes and love to her”.
CBS 2’s Audrina Bigos reports prosecutors acted now because these charges come just days before the statute of limitations for bringing charges was set to run out.
It continued: “When he stands before judge and jury, Cosby will be presumed innocent – an enormous gift to a rich and powerful man who has spent years intimidating women into silence”.
The 78-year-old comedian was called into court on Wednesday for one charge of aggravated indecent assault.
In the deposition, Cosby says he gave Constand three half-pills of the cold and allergy medicine Benadryl. She believes there are other victims, possibly many, who are probably afraid like she was. Goins’ federal lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles in October, seeks punitive damages for a variety of problems she says she has endured, including mental anguish, loss of self-esteem and dignity.

“I don’t know what to think”, said Penny Papworth of England. “Rather, reopening this case was our duty”, Steele said.
