Bill Cosby: US comedian’s wife told to testify
A federal judge has denied a request by lawyers for Camille Cosby, Bill Cosby’s wife of more than 50 years, to be excused from an upcoming deposition for a civil case against the famed comedian. Although Camille’s lawyer argued that the things she discussed with Bill should be considered private conversations and “privileged”, that notion was struck down.

A US Magistrate has rejected arguments Camille Cosby should be protected from testifying against her 78-year-old husband.
Camille is not a defendant in the lawsuit, which was filed after Cosby’s lawyers went after the women in the press for coming forward with their claims of assault.
The said affidavit filed against Bill Cosby claims the actor’s alleged drugging and sexually assaulting to a former Temple University employee, Andrea Constand.

Attorneys for Camille Cosby moved to quash a deposition order, claiming the law protects spouses from having to testify against each other.
Cosby, who was arraigned the day before on charges stemming from a 2004 incident, was released on $1 million bail after a short court appearance.

Cosby has filed a countersuit against the women, accusing them of making false allegations for financial gain.
Constand said in 2005 that after she and Cosby became friends he invited her to his home in Pennsylvania, where he made multiple sexual advances over time.
“The man I met, and fell in love with, and whom I continue to love, is the man you all knew through his work”, she said.
If found guilty, Cosby could face up to 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.
