If found guilty, Bill Cosby could face up to 10 years in prison and a $25,000 fine.
Pressley said on GMA that Castor deciding not to charge Cosby “led my client into a civil process where he testified because he believed that there was no thought whatsoever, no possibility, of him being charged criminally”. Was the sexual contact between them romantic and consensual, as he has testified, or did it occur while she was incapacitated, as the criminal complaint indicates, leaving her feeling isolated and afflicted with nightmares?
Several celebrities spoke out about the charges against Cosby after they were announced on Wednesday. However Mr Steele never said publicly how he would handle the case.
Two people familiar with a prosecutor’s decision say Bill Cosby will be charged in the investigation of an alleged sexual assault more than a decade ago.
“If every time Mr. Cosby opens up his mouth, he gets sued by another person with false allegations who’s looking to make some money, then it becomes risky to say anything at all”, Pressley told CNN Thursday, “so under the good advice of counsel, he’s letting me do the talking for him”.
According to the deposition, it was there that she met Cosby, who had attended Temple on a track and field scholarship and held a place on their board of trustees for 32 years before resigning in 2014.
The release of the testimony set off a torrent of allegations from other women that all but destroyed Cosby’s good-guy image. Last summer, Pennsylvania District attorney Attorney Kevin Steele and his office confirmed they were reassessing the case for new information. Guthrie followed up with a question about Andrea Constand’s 2005 civil case, from which these charges stem, and asked, “If you think someone’s lying, why do you settle?”
“Reopening this case was not a question”.
Bill Cosby has broken his silence for the first time since being arrested and charged with sexual assault following an alleged incident at his home in 2004.
He’s 78 years old, and blind, so he does use a cane so that he can know what’s coming in front of him and he does require assistance because of that and that is who the DA’s office has chosen to charge in this case.
Steele, the office’s current No. 2 prosecutor, won election in November after running attacks ads against his opponent for not prosecuting Cosby in 2005.
The charge was laid just days before the 12-year statute of limitations for bringing charges was set to run out. The charges were filed one day before the legal deadline.
“I feel that really for the African-American community, he owes us to be honest”, she said.
“She came in through the kitchen door”, according to a copy of Cosby’s deposition testimony that was obtained by The New York Times. But already she said she could not move or speak.
She says Cosby “fondled her breasts” and then sexually assault on her. She says she woke up at 4 a.m. with her “sweater bunched up” and her “bra undone”.

“I don’t hear her say anything”. But since Constand trusted Cosby, she continued their relationship and felt comfortable going to his house alone.
