Microsoft founder Bill Gates tops the list http://www.forbes.com/forbes-400/ with a net worth of $76 billion, ranking as the wealthiest American for the 22nd year in a row.

Nine billionaires in Georgia were on the Forbes list, led by Atlanta publisher Anne Cox Chambers, worth $18 billion.
Nike’s top rival, Baltimore-based Under Armour, was founded by Kevin Plank, who ranks 145 on the list at US$3.9 billion, up 30 per cent from past year.
According to Forbes itself, entering the prestigious catalogue this year required a whopping earning of $1.7 billion. Bezos, the biggest gainer on the list, up $16.5 billion in one year, is now the fourth richest American, worth $47 billion.

Stanley Kroenke, who owns the St. Louis Rams, Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets, rounds out the top five at $7.6 billion.
Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump trashed Forbes in an interview for a larger piece the magazine published Tuesday on the real-estate magnate’s net worth. First, the combined wealth of the richest 400 Americans nears $2.4 trillion, which is the largest sum ever reported by the famous business magazine.
Overall, women are struggling to make their way on to the wealthiest list.

One thing that the “Forbes 400” list confirmed is, the richer is getting richer with more than 200 participants gaining more and more each year.
