Bill in US Congress on Pakistan reflects concerns on terrorism
The BBC’s Sanjoy Majumder in Srinagar in Indian-administered Kashmir says long military convoys carrying soldiers and supplies can be seen on the main highway leading to the LoC, the de facto border with Pakistan-administered Kashmir. “It neither wants nor is it engaged in an arms race with India but we can not ignore our neighbors unprecedented arms buildup and we will take whatever measures are necessary to maintain credible deterrence”, said Nawaz Sharif, Pakistani Prime Minister. “This is self-incrimination by the Pakistan PM”. ‘The world should first put an end to nuclear activities undertaken by India’. “When practiced as an instrument of state policy it is a war crime”, she said.

“Even today we have heard support by the Prime Minister of Pakistan for a self-acknowledged commander of a known terrorist organisation”, she said.
“The worst violation of human rights is terrorism”.
Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif speaks during the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly at U.N. headquarters.
He, nevertheless, said talks between the two nations could not succeed till resolution of the Kashmir issue.
Sharif had glorified a self-declared terrorist (Burhan Wani) belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen.
Replying to the prime minister’s address, EenamGambhir, a senior diplomat at India’s United Nations mission, said: “The worst violation of human rights is terrorism”.
“We urge upon the Prime Minister and the government to consult all political parties in taking a concrete and tangible step on this”, he added.
India has said that the onus is now squarely on Islamabad to act against the terror groups which find safe havens in Pakistan and support cross border terrorism.
India also continues to resort to repressive measures such as curfews, incarceration of Kashmiri leaders and denial of medical treatment to the injured, especially those blinded and poisoned by pellet gunfire, Sharif added.

To another question, he said, Indian state actors were involved in interfering in Balochistan. Instead, all countries had referred to terrorism as the main threat to global peace, “a fact that Pakistan still remains in denial of”.
