Comic-Con is far from the only convention of its kind these days but it hasn’t lost its swagger.

Ronnie Cruz and his friend Annie Mulholland have dressed up for conventions for a few years now, but this year Cruz decided to incorporate his five kids into a nightmarish tableau vivant with him as Mad Max, Mulholland as the villainous Emily Badaboom, and various offspring ages 8 to 13 as War Boys and War Girls, including the littlest one with a mohawk to complete his fearsome look. The event is expected to attract more than 125,000 fans.
“My cheeks hurt from walking around with a big old smile all day”, she said.
The show is ever-evolving, and with it come pros and cons. A celebrity sighting is always nice, especially if you can spot them in costume – Adam Savage of “Mythbusters”, I’m looking at you (I hope).

For some, the annual pop culture and comic book convention is a family affair. For one long weekend a year, the Hollywood marketing machine cedes its influence to the geek citizenry. But more than anything else, this fan fest is all about… The event started off with the preview, reports USA Today.
