Bill Murray will help out at his son’s bar in NY this weekend. “We wanted to change it up, ” Murray’s son explained to Eater. It won’t be Murray’s first time “tending” bar, although it might be the first time Bill shilled drinks with advance notice rather than just showing up.

The actor has been known for his spontaneous bartending in the past, appearing at Austin bar Shangri-La during SXSW 2010. You could be singing some karaoke and all of a sudden BOOM Bill Murray. Syd Silver and Homer Murray, whose restaurant River Styx used to occupy the space, told Eater they’ve made a decision to “change it up” and transform their space into something new and more upscale. It now promises a renovated dining room, updated kitchen and a new bar, where Bill will hand out his libations. They took the nachos and burgers off the menu, and replaced them with more upscale items. “They don’t look as good but they still taste great and are high quality”.

“Fans are calling from five hours away saying they want to see him”, the manager said adding that the phone has been ringing off the hook with guests trying to make reservations. The eatery is co-owned by the actor’s son Homer.
