Bill Nye the Science Guy… the next fashion icon?

All fans of Bill Nye the Science Guy will see a lot of him in this book, since he carries the same great enthusiasm and the light, experimental approach.

To coincide with the release of his new book on climate change, Unstoppable, “The Science Guy” teamed up with Joe Boxer-founder Nick Graham to create a limited-edition collection of twelve bowties-which be available at science-friendly places like the American Museum of Natural History’s gift shop. “We’re hoping he finds one with a few department stores”. Wind and solar are now booming, but at the same time, and despite rapid growth rates at present, they still provide less than 10 percent of overall US electricity.

Bill Nye stated that when it comes to the fashion business, science is more involved than we might think.

“My grandfather went into World War I on a horse”, says Nye. Everything changed in 20 years. He also analyzes the pros and cons of technological improvements that could lead us to reverse a few of the consequences with new clean and efficient energy sources.

The book also covers such advanced biofuels as those based on switchgrass and algae, vacuum trains (the famed “hyperloop” suggested by Elon Musk), and more.

Bill Nye isn’t only on tabloids due to the launch of this particular collection. Here, too, he’s optimistic. He believes that we don’t have to be afraid now, looking back at everything the human race has accomplished, especially at this moment when we are facing climate change.

“There couldn’t be a better combination of style and science than Bill Nye”, says Nick Graham.

Just one month before the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris, Nye says that the United States is the country that is lagging behind. Once in a while you meet a young person, now and then.
