The presumptive Republican presidential nominee received a rousing reception at a forum hosted by the political arm of the National Rifle Association and won the group’s endorsement, taking another step toward being accepted as the GOP standard-bearer after a divisive primary season.
Trump told the NRA he would eliminate gun-free zones imposed in some areas, noting that the 2015 shooting deaths of four U.S. Marines at an armed forces recruiting center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, took place in a gun-free zone. He claimed, hyperbolically, that Ms. Clinton, his likely Democratic opponent, “wants to take away your guns”. “I can tell you”.
She said that Mr Trump says a lot of things which are provocative and will make the important task of bringing everybody to the table and defeating terrorism much more hard.

Her campaign says Clinton supports “sensible action” to address the issue, including expanding comprehensive background checks, cracking down on illegal gun traffickers, keeping weapons out of the hands of domestic abusers, and repealing an NRA-backed law that shields gun manufacturers and sellers from lawsuits.
“I am confident. Well, in part from my own experience, you know?” she said when asked where she was getting her confidence from. “We can uphold Second Amendment rights while preventing senseless gun violence”.

Mr. Trump’s efforts to shore up his support among the NRA’s more than 5 million members could help him in the Rust Belt States that he would need to carry to win the White House. The source said Corker remains on Trump’s list of potential vice presidential running mates.

Since the early primary states, Mr. Trump used his sons, Eric and Donald Jr., both avid hunters and outdoorsmen, to connect with the gun community and counteract their father’s image as an elite Manhattanite. The event was scheduled a month before the party’s largest annual fundraiser, which typically draws twice as many people.
