Bills concerns mount after getting off to 0-2

“There wasn’t any hanging heads”, Fitzpatrick said of the Bills surge. Which team came out looking as a contender and which went back tot the drawing board? The homestanding Bills are staring 0-4 in the face with a loss, as they have the Cardinals and the Patriots over the next two weeks. In some ways, he was even better on Thursday night. With 10 years in the league as one of the best, the age of 31 hasn’t been kind to him. That was not the case tonight, as both teams came out firing. A hook-and-ladder pass got the Bills near midfield, but lacking any timeouts, they could not run another play.

“I mean, we thought we could cover them”. The Jets settled for Nick Folk field goals of 28 and 29 yards, but found themselves trailing. The Jets then added to their lead with a 5-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Fitzpatrick to Eric Decker.

Dan Carpenter’s 38-yard field goal cut the Jets lead to 20-10 just before halftime.

Forte finished with 100 yards rushing, and the offseason free-agent addition became the 13th NY player to score three rushing touchdowns in a game.

The Jets had a 300-yard passer and two 100-yard receivers in the same game. The Bills defense has had trouble getting off the field all night and for most of the night the Bills offense hasn’t been able to stay on the field. “The only thing I cared about was is my ACL all right and am I going to get the feeling back in my leg?”

He went 18 of 30 for 298 yards and three touchdowns.

The Jets and Bills were night and day in this category as the Bills relied upon the big play early and often.

The next series, Buffalo would force their only turnover of the game when Jalin Marshall fumbled a pass that was scooped up by Nickel Robey-Coleman who returned it 36 yards for the score and regain the lead. But, the Bills were unable to further capitalize, as the Jets took momentum back. Second year receiver Quincy Enunwa stepped up when it mattered putting together five catches for 90 yards in the first half alone including a key third down reception on the first drive. Taylor would find Mike Gillislee for a touchdown afterwards, but the Bills were unable to recover the onside kick, effectively ending the game.

The Bills got the ball back and Forte scored his third touchdown five plays later.

Eric Decker had 126 yards receiving and Brandon Marshall had 101 yards.

After the short week, the Jets don’t play again until September 25 against the Chiefs in Kansas City. Will Matt Forte lead the J-E-T-S to their first victory of the season or will it be Tyrod Taylor time at New Era Field?
