Bills offense sputters, fall to Ravens 13

After a leaky first half in which Baltimore’s Joe Flacco connected with veteran speedster Mike Wallace for a 66-yard scoring bolt, the Bills defence made adjustments and turned positively ferocious.

On their next possession, the Ravens drove the ball into Bills’ territory.

Taylor, a former Virginia Tech standout, became an All-Pro quarterback with the Bills.

But their offensive balance, pace and unpredictability wore down as the game wore on; their own penalties and mistakes stalled matters and kept them from winning by an even bigger margin against the Bills (0-1), a team that hasn’t won in Charm City since 1999. The Ravens have moved the ball but turned it over once. Joe Flacco, who is the starting quarterback, didn’t play.

2nd Quarter- The Bills found their offense. Baltimore’s defense held Tyrod Taylor to 111 yards passing and Lesean McCoy to less than 4 yards per carry and under 60 yards. Its more than fair to wonder why the tight end, Clay, a high priced free agent isn’t targeted more often. Two receptions were for first downs, including a third-down conversion. Duke Williams was beat on the play. On the ground, Stephen Houston rushed for 55 yards in 16 attempts while Josh Johnson added 21 yards in four carries.

This is the fewest yards allowed by the Ravens since 2011. The Bills trail by 3 at halftime 10-7. However the Ravens stiffened and forced a field goal try that was no good. But the offense, which was supposed to be Buffalo’s most dependable unit, was mostly missing in action in Sunday afternoon’s disheartening, 13-7, loss to the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium. The Bills had only one timeout remaining, so this was a desperately needed stop.

Three catches for 91 yards and 11 yards rushing off a reverse may not be eye-popping numbers.

Here’s how to watch Ravens vs. Bills online.

Back-to-back false start penalties on the Ravens’ second offensive drive, the first called on rookie left tackle Ronnie Stanley, set them back. I was impressed as fans came out in droves as they showed Ravens fans how to really tailgate. However, on fourth-and-1 from Bills’ 42-yard line, Flacco’s pass to running back Terrance West went for no gain. “We should be better in a number of phases … we just couldn’t get anything going”. “They had a nice scheme going on that gave us some fits”. The Bills had no downfield passing game. They have Sammy Watkins out there. He made a guy miss and knifed through there and up into Tyrod.

Clock management was a problem in both halves as well. The Bills open the season at home Thursday night against the New York Jets.

Pitta hadn’t played in a regular season game since 2014 before catching three passes for 39 yards.

Linebacker Jerry Hughes posted a video on Instagram showing him and linebacker Zach Brown in a auto, supposedly en route to M&T Bank Stadium.

“Eric Weddle, he’s a different kind of guy back there”, Wright said.
