Bills ownership fired OC Greg Roman without Rex Ryan’s approval
Friday’s firing of offensive coordinator Greg Roman on the heels of Thursday night’s 37-31 loss to the New York Jets creates an undeniable impression: The Bills are the first team to panic in the 2016 season.

In Thursday’s loss to New York, Taylor hooked-up with Marquise Goodwin for an 84 yard touchdown pass – the longest TD strike at home in Bills history.
The Bills are in trouble after two weeks, and Rex Ryan seems to have a good chance of being the first head coach fired this season. Lynn has been on head coach Rex Ryan’s coaching staff since 2009 with the New York Jets, and interviewed with the San Francisco 49ers this offseason for their head coaching position.
Just two games into the regular season and change has already come to the Buffalo Bills coaching staff. The Bills led the National Football League in rushing last season while first-year starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor developed to the point that he earned a six-year contract extension that could yield as much as $92 million.
Coming into the game, Fitzpatrick had a 2-8 record against Rex Ryan as a starter, averaging 165 yards in those contests, with 16 touchdowns and 12 picks. He had unsuccessfully bid to replace Doug Marrone as Buffalo’s head coach when he stepped down after the 2014 season, but instead ended up as the NFL’s top-paid offensive coordinator.
The Jets let their season opener slip away, falling to Cincinnati 23-22 last Sunday.
In Week 1, their offense could not have played worse and they fell to Baltimore 13-7.
“I haven’t talked to anybody that isn’t excited about the move”, said one of the people, who requested anonymity because of the sensitivity of the situation. Ryan didn’t inherit the type of team he likes on offense or defense a year ago to begin with. Buffalo has combined for just 151 yards rushing in two games.
“I thought he was down for the count for sure”, said quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who tapped Marshall on the shoulder in condolence on the sideline before the receiver left to have his knee tested.
Guard Richie Incognito said he felt “terrible” for Roman, but believes the offense will rally under Lynn.
Shady is just not living up to expectations in Buffalo, I think it’s time for the Bills to look for another HB either through free agency or the draft.
Ryan said he made the decision to fire Roman, then informed ownership of the decision. More importantly he did not turn the ball over and did not force throws against a Bills defense that is very good at taking the ball away.

That contributed to speculation in league circles a year ago Ryan could be done after one season in Buffalo, but the Pegulas stuck with him.
